Venice Access Regulations
In an attempt to preserve historical beauties and make the city more hospitable, Venice Town Council has announced a slew of new tourist rules for 2024, including the trial of a €5 fee to enter the city for day- trippers. This expanded package of measures is designed to manage visitor influx more effectively and help preserve the city's unique heritage.
With this in mind on the days below, entry to the city of Venice is subject to payment of an access fee:
- April: 25 to 30
- May: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26
- June: 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, 30
- July: 6, 7, 13 and 14
Minors under the age of 14 are excluded from the payment of the access fee: to prove their age, if it is not apparent, the presentation of an identity document is accepted as sufficient proof.
HOTEL GUESTS DO NOT PAY
Those staying in an accommodation facility located in the Municipality of Venice are exempt from paying the access fee. The exemption is valid from the day of arrival to the day of departure.
However, registering and obtaining the appropriate exemption voucher is required to benefit from the exemption.
